Birthday Note (22-09-2010)

I hope that this would not be another typical birthday note.
I'm not trying to moan about my unachievable goals or do some wish list here. I just want to share about things I've been learning these couple of years.

They said that being twenty something is hard. I couldn't agree more.
For me it's the limit between dream and reality.
Who have been on that twenty-something life crisis?
I can clearly see some hands up. I personally did or perhaps still do.

I've been this nerdy little girl ever since I know. Ranked first in class 'till junior high and named as a bit aggressive by some of my friends. I must be kinda an annoying person back then. (Am I still now?)

Then until college, I never escaped class on purpose, I did homework properly, I never cheated on the exam, I never went clubbing, I think I've never done any meaningful rebellious act during my teenage years.
And before I knew it, I was entering this phase when I'm trying so hard to be cool. It came to me like a late puberty.

Still I keep my nerdy-dominant side for some situation now. But I fail to keep many other things: my strictness, my idealism, my dream...

So while I was still wondering why many things have changed upon my eyes, I've started to realize that it is the process of being grown up. That we simply don't live in that naive world anymore. I've learned many priceless lessons during the process: managing expectation, accepting people, fighting prejudice, fertilizing empathy, letting go what I can't have... Then most importantly is to appreciate what I have and do the best of it.

Hope that I could master them all soon. Welcome my mid-pass-approaching-end twenty!

OK, this seems like a typical birthday note.

Bonjour, Monsieur!

I am a huge fan of Charles Schulz's artwork: Peanuts gang comic strip. I especially love how that Snoopy dog naively believes he can be in any kind of profession. I envy his naivete. Flying ace is definitely one of the most interesting alter egos, not only because he flies Sopwith Camel biplane, understands a little French, and gets drunk by root-beer, he also plays bridge!

Last year before I left J-town for study, a friend of mine gave me this little figurine of Flying Ace. I thought that I will have some adventure with him back in KH-town later and write it on this blog! So that's how I come up with this blog's name.
